About UK Visitors' Travel Purpose
Two types of Azerbaijani e-Visas are offered to British nationals:
Tourist E-Visas- Also called an ordinary visa, travellers can apply for it when the purpose of their travel is tourism, family visit, attending sports and cultural events, or medical treatment.
Business E-Visas- As the name suggests, this visa is offered for short business trips or to attend meetings and conferences. However, it must be noted that UK nationals cannot use their business e-visa for seeking paid employment in Azerbaijan. If you want to work in Azerbaijan, you can apply for a work visa via the Azerbaijani consulate or embassy.
ASAN Visa Extension
The Azerbaijan e-visa is a single-entry travel authorization. To extend your stay in the country, you can only apply from outside Azerbaijan. Overstaying your e-visa is against Azerbaijani law and can have serious consequences such as a fine or travel ban.
Entry Requirements For UK Citizens
UK travellers wishing to stay in Azerbaijan for over 15 days need to register with the local State Migration Service soon after arriving in the country. The registration process can be completed electronically or physically by visiting any nearby ASAN service centre or Regional Migration Departments. The hotel where the traveller is staying can also perform the registration on their behalf.
Please Note: The government of Azerbaijan has updated the COVID-19 travel restrictions for entering Azerbaijan. Travelers no longer need to submit a negative test result to enter and apply for a visa.
Previously, The Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan recently issued a decree declaring that all passengers travelling to Azerbaijan must provide a negative PCR COVID-19. The PCR test should not be taken more than 72 hours before the date of their departure to Azerbaijan.

British nationals 18 years old or above may be asked to provide a 'COVID-19 passport.' It is a document confirming the individual's complete vaccination against COVID-19. Or else, they can show a document validating their immunity to COVID-19 to enter Azerbaijan.
British nationals holding temporary or permanent residency in Azerbaijan may be exempt from the 'COVID-19 passport' requirement to re-enter Azerbaijan. However, they will have to show a negative PCR COVID-19 test at the time of arrival.
